BF6 Players Agree: Challenges Are Way Too Hard
The release of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, many players are voicing discontent with several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced resorting to personalized games made via Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how demanding these missions have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. There are four types of assignments, but where most only reward outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one key firearms available in the game.
A number of these restricted firearms might eventually earn a place on rankings for the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry across Reddit
On Reddit, players are justifiably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most extreme examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This mission is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and only works at very short distances, which isn't typically where you want to be. The same user also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge
Another Reddit user highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to unlock the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations from more than 200 meters away with long-range weapons
This is challenging enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine levels in the game at present, it means you're limited to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and perhaps Operation Firestorm at a push if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Bypass
There is a workaround though: Battlefield Portal. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to design tailored experiences on whatever map you choose, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.
However, when doing the challenges in a proper game appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that offers no advantage to anyone, who can blame someone for completing them in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Potential Changes
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the coming days or weeks, because if they're not, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
At the moment, the community continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a less arduous gaming experience in coming revisions.
