Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Fans can anticipate finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
