Doris Included in Irish Team While Joe McCarthy Misses Out
Newly reappointed head coach Andy Farrell has selected captain Caelan Doris in his Irish roster for the autumn matches, however lock McCarthy is absent.
Doris, who has not played since undergoing shoulder surgery in the start of May, has come back to provincial training, with doubts lingering whether he will be fit to play against the All Blacks in the US on 1 November.
Lock Joe McCarthy, however, was not considered after failing to recover from the foot issue suffered during the first Lions match against Australia in the summer.
Ulster forward Cormac Izuchukwu and southern province winger Calvin Nash also miss out due to fitness concerns, while full-back Keenan had already been ruled out after undergoing hip surgery after the Lions tour.
Leinster forward McCarthy - Joe's younger brother - is the sole uncapped player in the 34-man squad, however Irish rugby authorities says uncapped Munster duo Edwin Edogbo and Brian Gleeson and once-capped western province wing Bolton will head to Chicago as "reserves".
Following facing the New Zealand at the Chicago stadium in a repeat of their 2016 encounter, the team will play the Brave Blossoms, the Wallabies and world champions South Africa in Dublin.
"There's an exciting look to the squad and there's an opportunity for the veteran members and for the newcomers on the summer tour to Georgia and the Lobos," said the coach, who returns to national team duties after taking a sabbatical to coach the Lions tour to Australia.
In a largely experienced squad, Leinster's Sam Prendergast and Munster's Crowley will once again compete for the first-choice number 10 spot. The fly-half role is remains available, as Prendergast and Crowley set to face off for the first occasion in Saturday's United Rugby Championship match at Croke Park.
Ciaran Frawley is the additional number 10 selected with Farrell opting against selecting the province's Byrne.
At scrum-half, the Ireland boss has selected British and Irish Lion Gibson-Park and Craig Casey, who captained the national side to the summer international wins over Georgia and Portugal. There is also a return for Connacht's Blade, chosen to teammate Ben Murphy.
Robbie Henshaw, Bundee Aki, Garry Ringrose and McCloskey represent an veteran group of centre options. Osborne is a further choice in the midfield, though the 23-year-old is additionally a frontrunner to cover for the full-back at number 15.
Wingers James Lowe, Hansen, Tommy O'Brien and Stockdale are named. O'Brien shone on his national team debut over the summer with a brace each in the wins over Georgia and Portugal.

The Ireland squad will meet in Dublin on the start of the week before flying to the US on the following day.
