Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
